Closed Captioning: Drip irrigation can be a lifesaver, especially if you travel during the summer months like I do. What I love about drip irrigation is that you can customize the system specifically for your needs. There are many different emitter types as well as soaker hoses, which can all be used in unison to achieve the desired watering patterns. I use drip to water my raised beds, containers and other vertical systems. One critical component to this system is a good quality and reliable timer. The timer unit is connected directly to your water spout. It will regulate the frequency and duration of a watering cycle. From there, water travels through a main tube. Feeder tubes are then attached to the main tube. The feeder and main tubes can be cut as needed and connected using T and corner connectors. The possibilities are endless. The only downside is that this system lives aboveground and could freeze in the winter causing it to crack. The good news is that parts are very cheap and can easily be replaced.
