When berry season rolls around, I am happy as a clam. Though berries are available year-round (usually trucked in from California, Mexico or Florida), nothing compares to fresh, local berries in flavor, juiciness, and sweetness.

Strawberries are a great choice to grow in the home garden. They do well inn the ground, in containers and in raised beds. Raspberries require more space as they can grow quite wild. Blueberries have some special requirements, like acidic soil, so I prefer to grow them in containers.
